The First CEI Signal Monitor

They don't get much older than this. The unit has no model number. It was simply their first signal monitor (SM). The center frequency is 21.4 MHz and the maximum sweep width is 3 MHz. The brass bezel (painted black) may be unique to this model.

CEI equipment design was clean and straight forward from their very first products. The SDU electronics are all nuvistor, primarily 7587s (with plate caps) and 6CW4s. The CRT is a 3XP1, a tube widely used by CEI in early SMs.

Most CEI equipment is easy to service because of excellent uncluttered layouts. This early SM is no exception.
